My healthy lifestyle really only started about 8-10 years ago. I have alway been active. Cheerleading and track in school, running and kickboxing in my 20s and now the amazing beachbody programs. However I have never really cared about my eating until I gained 30 pounds from 9 months of chemo when I was 20-21 yrs old. That was life changing in so many ways!
At first I watched my food and counted calories so I wasn’t a ‘fat’ bald chick. I did a few fad diets but mostly just counted calories, ALL calories. I worked out like a nut-case and could easily have been labeled a Cardio Queen! I guess you could say I became ‘skinny-fat’. You know, where someone is tiny in size but who knows what’s going on with the inside of their body. They eat hot dogs, meat-lovers pizza and nachos at the ball game but they are still in a tiny part of jeans. That was me!
Then, after a few years of roller coaster diets, it started to click for me. What if eating all this junk was linked to cancer and other sicknesses? That’s when eating whole foods and a cleaner lifestyle started to form for me.
Still, I was missing something though, I would do great for about 2 weeks then I would pig out! I would go on a binge weekend!! Yes, a binge weekend! My stomach would hurt and I would totally regret it but that didn’t stop me from repeating it about 2 or 3 weeks later- following another healthy, clean spread. It would happen over and over again.
What was I missing?? …. accountability!
Well, fast-forward to now- I plug into my accountability groups daily. I share my struggles, share my victories and share my healthy lifestyle with others. I am obsessed with cleaner eating for my family. I love it and I love having others to share it with.
Challenges like the ones described below are what keep me going. They are the backbone of my healthy lifestyle and, honestly, not sure I could sustain this healthy lifestyle long-term without this community.

For cardio I am going to go with Turbo Fire hands down! It is high paced, full of energy and makes me feel like I am in a booty sweatin’ class! It is a combination of kickboxing, plyometrics, hip hop & fun!
To build muscle it’s a toss up between P90x3 and Body Beast.
Body Beast gave me the most confidence with my muscles and strength. I just felt beasty with it. I have completed 3 rounds of it so far. But P90x3 gave me 6 pounds of muscle gain in 1 round of the program. It is only 30 minutes and provides you with cardio, strength, yoga, core and more. It’s a prefect all in one when wanting to gain muscle and lean out.
