Happy Valentines Day, My Love!
As momma’s we’re always spreading the love to others- our kids, husband, boss, church, parents, schedules, on and on!! Today I want you to ask yourself ‘how much do I love ME? How much love do I give myself?’ Are you treating yourself the way you treat others? That’s something we usually say to our kids when they treat others poorly. Treat others how you want to be treated. This time we are going to flip flop it though. You deserve the best! So ask yourself if you are talking to yourself and treating yourself with as much love as you do to others. Are you treating yourself how you would want your daughter, sister or mom to treat herself? Most likely you deserve better. You deserve to spend more time on yourself, even if it’s only spending more THOUGHT on yourself.
Before you make a move today and every day after ask yourself if you deserve better! The answer is probably YES!
When I wake up late or spend the morning cleaning up dirty diapers and soaked through jammies and bed sheets it’s tempting to think that it only means one thing, I must skip my workout. For some reason I think that if I can’t get a whole workout in then forget it! If I can’t get the whole workout in then I just won’t do one at all! I guess I am in a way kind of pouting that I didn’t get ME time. I want it all or no workout at all. Right? Are you like that too? Then comes the second portion of the morning routine.. I am rushing around, carrying a screaming baby while fixing breakfast, brushing hair, cleaning up milk, starting laundry and unloading the dishwasher so I eat standing up and nibble on the toast that the kids didn’t eat and finishing the berries left on their plate while chugging coffee. Can you relate? Have you caught yourself doing the same or similar things? Well, STOP!
STOP, STOP, STOP!
Love yourself enough to treat your body with respect. You deserve better than a half eaten meal that a toddler fingered or coffee and a bagel scarfed while standing. Your body needs to be fueled with quality foods. It needs exercise. It needs rest. It needs to be loved. You deserve the best for your body as well as your MIND. At the end of the day if you have given yourself the time to sit down and eat, the quality of food to keep you energized and feeling good, the exercise to clear your mind and get your juices flowing you have more to give others! You will live a longer, healthier, happier life! Your family will be happier because you are happier! If you are loving yourself you will better be able to love others and give more to others.
So, with Valentines day give yourself some love and continue to grow a love for yourself all year long!
Hugs,
Jackie
